Privacy

Privacy, specifically

Not a vague promise — an exact account of what is stored where, what never happens, and how to take everything with you.

No accounts, no tracking

  • No sign-up or login, ever.
  • No server-side profiles.
  • No analytics and no telemetry.
  • No cookies.
  • No third-party trackers, ad networks or fingerprinting scripts.

What's stored, and where

Everything below lives in this browser on this device.
IndexedDB database “launchpad”

Three stores: your profile (a display name and an id), your lesson progress (completions, quiz scores) and your notes.

localStorage keys

Keys namespaced launchpad.* (app flags) plus theme (your light/dark preference, managed by next-themes).

Cache Storage

The PWA app shell and assets, so Launchpad opens offline. It's disposable — safe to clear, and it refills on next visit.

Your data never leaves this device

Backups are local downloads containing only learning data: your profile, lesson progress and notes — plus, since the learning loop shipped, your assessment evidence, review schedules, onboarding preferences, daily-challenge history and saved workspace code. Nothing else. AI provider keys are never included in backups, exports, logs or diagnostics, and neither are AI mentor conversations (an optional cache you can export per-conversation or clear entirely).

AI features

  • AI Mentor (optional, off by default): bring your own key — it only works if you provide one. Requests go directly from your browser to your chosen provider (Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic, Groq, OpenRouter or a custom endpoint); Launchpad is never in the path. Keys are stored only on your device and never enter backups, exports, logs or diagnostics — see AI Mentor for the full picture.
  • Homepage Launchpad Guide (live answers): when you ask the Guide a live question on the homepage, your question is sent through Launchpad's server to Groq to produce the streamed response. Nothing about your question or the answer is stored — the server keeps no history, no logs of message content, and no visitor tracking. The Guide's scripted examples make no request at all.

Storage limits & recovery

Browsers may evict site storage under disk pressure. Launchpad requests persistent storage to reduce that risk, but the honest defense is exports: download a backup from Settings regularly. A validated restore — with an itemized plan, conflict choices and a one-session rollback — is built in; still, keep your backup files safe.

Removing your data

Settings → “Reset all local data” clears the profile, progress, notes and preference flags in one action. Alternatively, clear site data in your browser. There is nothing to delete server-side — nothing is ever stored there.

Changes to this policy

Material changes will be noted on this page with dates. The principles — no accounts, no tracking, local-first — are not negotiable features of this project.
