iOS Development Specialization

Build iOS apps with Swift and SwiftUI: from the language and Xcode through interfaces, state, persistence and the App Store.

  1. iOS: Swift FundamentalsSwift fundamentals for developers who already know Python: let and var with type inference, the optionals system, value types vs reference types, protocols, enums with associated values, error handling and closures.50 minintermediate
  2. iOS: Xcode & Your First AppSet up the real iOS toolchain - install Xcode, generate a project from the App template, read every starter file, make your first edit and run it in the simulator - and learn the honest platform rule: iOS development requires a Mac.45 minintermediate
  3. iOS: SwiftUI Views & LayoutThe SwiftUI view system: the View protocol and body, Text, Image and Button, the three stacks, modifiers as the layout engine, sizing with frame and layout priority, ScrollView, List with ForEach and Identifiable, and NavigationStack-powered list-to-detail navigation.50 minadvanced
  4. iOS: State, Data Flow & LifecycleHow data moves through a SwiftUI app: view-local state with @State, two-way bindings with the $ prefix and @Binding, the @Observable macro pattern of a parent-owned model with @Bindable children, computed display values, work at the right moments with onAppear and task, the scenePhase lifecycle with saving on background, and a checklist for deciding where every piece of state lives.50 minadvanced
  5. iOS: Persistence with SwiftData & UserDefaultsMaking data survive relaunches: the persistence ladder from in-memory state through UserDefaults and files to SwiftData, UserDefaults mechanics and their limits, the @Model macro for persistent classes, ModelContainer and ModelContext, live-updating @Query views with #Predicate filtering, a full CRUD walkthrough, schema versioning when shipped models change, and a decision table for choosing storage.50 minadvanced
  6. iOS Capstone — Build & Test a Reading-List AppThe track's capstone: build, test and ship-prep a complete Reading List app - a SwiftData Book model with status and rating, a live @Query list with an @Observable filter view model, a create-or-edit sheet under NavigationStack, a real accessibility pass, an XCTest unit suite plus a UI-test sketch, and an honest walkthrough of signing, TestFlight and App Store review with the common rejection buckets.75 minadvanced
